Azerbaijani FM highlights TRIPP’s potential for regional connectivity and growth

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has underscored that the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project will open up new opportunities for regional connectivity, economic growth and energy cooperation, while strengthening trade and investment ties.

Speaking at the “Prosperity through Peace: Investing in the Trans-Caspian Trade Route and TRIPP” event organised by the US government on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Bayramov presented Azerbaijan’s vision for strengthening regional connectivity, emphasising that the development of transport and logistics links could significantly accelerate economic growth, enhance supply chain resilience and create new investment opportunities, Caliber.Az reports via the ministry.

The event focused primarily on the TRIPP project, which was presented as one of the key outcomes of the Washington Summit.

“It was noted that, as a key outcome of historic Washington Summit, TRIPP will provide unimpeded multimodal connectivity between mainland Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, strengthen broader connectivity and foster lasting regional peace. Minister expressed gratitude for the efforts of the United States in the process of realizing the project,” the ministry said.

Bayramov highly appreciated US efforts to advance the TRIPP project and expressed gratitude for the support provided.

The foreign minister stressed that the project extends beyond the transport sector, highlighting its significant potential to develop regional energy links and diversify energy sources.

Bayramov also outlined Azerbaijan’s ongoing transport and logistics initiatives, noting that investments continue in the development of an integrated transport and logistics hub around the Port of Baku and the Alat Free Economic Zone.

He highlighted the importance of expanding digitalisation, streamlining logistics and customs procedures, and strengthening coordination among regional partners. In this regard, he noted that coordination roadmaps between Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Türkiye and Georgia are contributing to the development of regional transport links.

According to Azerbaijan’s approach, the development of the Trans-Caspian Trade Route and new connectivity projects such as TRIPP will bring countries and markets closer together, creating additional opportunities for regional trade, investment and energy cooperation.
