Azerbaijan, Serbia keen to expand strategic partnership

On the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held talks with his Serbian counterpart Marko Djuric to discuss further steps toward deepening the strategic partnership between the two nations.

During the meeting, the ministers focused on the current state of and prospects for the development of strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Serbia, cooperation in the political, economic, trade, energy, transport and humanitarian spheres, as well as regional and international security issues, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.

The FMs highlighted the important role of high-level contacts, political dialogue and inter-parliamentary ties, as well as key mechanisms including the Azerbaijan–Serbia Strategic Partnership Council, Intergovernmental Commission, and regular political consultations between Foreign Ministries in advancing bilateral ties.
