Saudi envoy: Trade, investment potential with Azerbaijan growing

Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan have significant potential to further increase bilateral trade and investment in the coming years, Saudi Ambassador to Azerbaijan Essam bin Saleh Al-Jutaili has said at a reception marking the 96th anniversary of the National Day of the Kingdom.

According to him, Saudi-Azerbaijani relations, established in 1991, are currently developing actively across various areas, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

“We are working to increase trade and investment through the Joint Intergovernmental Commission and the Saudi-Azerbaijani Business Council, as well as to strengthen political coordination through the Committee on Political Consultations,” the diplomat noted.

Al-Jutaili stressed that Saudi Arabia plays an important role on the international stage as a member of the Group of 20 and one of the key players in global energy markets.

He claimed that the Kingdom also focuses on environmental sustainability and combating climate change and, through the implementation of strategic projects, has become a destination for international investment and tourism.

In his words, the Kingdom hosts numerous major international events and is implementing strategic projects across the country. “These projects reflect the future of sustainable development and innovation,” he added.

Al-Jutaili also highlighted Saudi Arabia’s role in promoting regional and international security and stability.

“The Kingdom is an effective mediator in various humanitarian initiatives and peace efforts, and also plays a leading role in providing humanitarian and emergency assistance to countries and peoples in need,” the ambassador said.

Touching on the economic situation, he further stated that despite the challenging regional environment, Saudi Arabia’s economy remains stable.

“The Kingdom’s achievements in various fields have shown the world and proved that Saudi Vision 2030 is not simply a dream, but a reality being brought to life every day,” Al-Jutaili emphasised.

The ambassador concluded by conveying his wishes for health, happiness, growth and prosperity to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the government and the people of Azerbaijan.
