Azerbaijan’s foreign minister calls for peaceful resolution of India-Pakistan dispute

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has called for the peaceful resolution of the dispute between India and Pakistan, stressing the importance of international law and regional stability.

Bayramov made the remarks at a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry said on X.

The minister reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to a peaceful settlement of the dispute in accordance with international law, international humanitarian law, the UN Charter and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

Bayramov also emphasised the importance of strengthening peace and stability in the region through the normalisation of relations between India and Pakistan.
