List of Western Azerbaijanis deported from Armenia being completed Community chairman says

Azerbaijani MP, Chairman of the Board of the Western Azerbaijan Community, Azizi Alakbarli has said that the list of Western Azerbaijanis deported from Armenia is being completed.

"Compilation of the list of Azerbaijanis expelled from Western Azerbaijan during the last deportation - in 1987-1991 is almost completed,” Alakbarli told Azertag.

According to him, work on compiling a list of Azerbaijanis deported from West Azerbaijan in 1948-1953 will begin soon.

"They were deported by the decision of Joseph Stalin. As is known, after Stalin's death, all people and nations repressed and deported in the 1930s and 1940s were acquitted. Only the deportees from West Azerbaijan were not affected, which is a historical injustice," he added.
