Armenia resorts to provocation on conditional border: Kalbajar under fire Statement of the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry

On February 23, at 05:50, units of the Armenian Armed Forces from positions, located in the direction of Yukhari (Verin) Shorja, Basarkechar region, fired small arms at positions of the Azerbaijani army in the direction of Yellidzha village of Kalbajar District.

As Caliber.Az learnt from the Defence Ministry, in order to prevent the aggravation of the situation and ensure stability on the conventional border of the two countries, units of the Azerbaijani army did not take retaliatory measures.

“We are calling on the military leadership of Armenia not to allow such provocations aimed at destabilizing the situation on the conditional border, and to bring those who commit these provocations to book,” the Defence Ministry said.
