Interview of Caliber.Az with a member of the Izborsk Club, Director of the Center for Geopolitical Expertise, Deputy Head of the International Eurasian Movement, and Russian political scientist, Valery Korovin.

    - As you know, the leader of China, during a recent video message at the annual Boao Asian Forum on the island of Hainan, spoke about "indivisible security." For what purpose was this concept put forward and how effective can it become in the context of the current globalisation and changing the world order? Why does Russia support this initiative?

    - Global security in the world can only be ensured by eliminating the monopoly of the West's dominance and its influence on processes worldwide. That is, global security in the current situation (amidst the West's claims for global dominance) is impossible, since this dominance is used by the West and the United States solely within their interests, and ignores the security of other players, especially if they are political or ideological opponents of the US. In this situation, on the contrary, these states do not agree with American policy, with American globalist dominance, and face extreme danger, they are invaded by American troops, these states are destroyed, they are plunged into a state of chaos and civil wars and in fact, are destroyed. Therefore, the dominance of the West is a very dangerous world.

And if we talk about the alternative offered by China, then this means building security based on a consensus of several [states], rather than a single civilizational pole. Such a model of a multipolar world, from which a multipolar and more stable security system emanated, is also supported by Russia and China.

    - Will Russia continue to count on China's support in the future, despite pressure from the US? How exactly is China’s solidarity manifested?

    - First, Russia and China are in solidarity in their desire to replace the current unipolar globalist model imposed on the world by the US and its allies with the multipolar world order. The future of the world is determined not by one, but by several civilizational poles based on consensus and mutual consideration of interests. Russia is counting on China's support in the same way that China is counting on Russia's support in consolidating its efforts to build a multipolar world. Russia and China are interested in removing the current unfair Western, American globalist model, which is extremely dangerous for the world, given that it was the West that initiated more than seventy conflicts after the end of World War II. It is the US that claims a champion title in interfering in the internal affairs of sovereign, independent countries that have been plunged into chaos. The US poses a grave danger not only to Russia and China but to all mankind. Accordingly, the American world must be disassembled.

    - Recently, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, said that there was no unity in the EU on a possible rejection of oil and gas supplies from Russia. Does this mean that Europe can mitigate the policy of sanctions against Russia?

    - Firstly, Europe must get rid of the American colonial occupation. Today Europe is not free, not independent, and not sovereign, and European politicians obey the will of the US in everything, therefore they act not in the interests of the European people, but in the interests of Washington, whose main task is to contain Moscow and to initiate a war with Russia by proxy, primarily through the Eastern European states with the support of the rest of Europe occupied by the United States.

From Europe, the Americans need only implicit obedience to their will and participation in American adventures, where the Americans themselves do not dare to intervene in the situation, putting the Europeans in danger. This also applies to military operations in the Arab world, and in other regions where American politicians send Europeans. This also applies to economic issues, when for containing Russia, as Washington politicians see it, Europeans are invited to sacrifice their economy and their energy security, and thereby pay for another American adventure launched in Ukraine in 2014.

The European Union was created by American strategists for total control over Europe and full management of all processes that take place in the Old World. If the people of Europe want to determine their destiny, they need to get rid of American domination and to achieve it, they need to move away from the current European elites appointed by Washington. A good chance to start this process could be the election of Marine Le Pen instead of [Emmanuel] Macron, the protégé of globalists.

    - Several experts describe the current situation as the beginning of World War III in the active phase. Do you think so?

    - If the West continues to actively intervene in the situation in Ukraine, then exactly the hot phase of World War III may pop up. Russia is ready for this, but are the West, and especially the Europeans, ready for this? This is a big question. But the current behaviour of the Western elites is destructive, disastrous, and aggressive; it does not bring the situation closer to peace, but on the contrary, inflames it. Moreover, the Americans again hope to observe the developments sitting in their continent. However, their hope is to no avail, because Russia perfectly understands where the source of this aggression is, and how this source can be eliminated.

    - So you think that the confrontation between Russia and the West is an attempt to put an end to the unipolar world?

    - The end of the unipolar world is inevitable, another question is how much toll it would take. A multipolar alternative can be established peacefully based on agreements and dialogue, or it can be achieved as a result of a war. In any case, it is now obvious that American politicians and those who obey them in Europe are betting on a forceful scenario for rebuilding the current world.

    - What do you think about the intention of Finland and Sweden to join NATO? What risks does this promise for Russia?

      - There are risks, first, for the Finns, who will immediately find themselves in a war. Ukraine was just about to join NATO, which allows us to easily imagine what will happen to Finland if it joins this Western bloc.

    - What exactly do you mean?

    - In terms of geopolitics, the contact of Russia with the countries of the West, primarily with the NATO member-states, will inevitably lead to a big war. There should be a buffer zone between Russia and the West, which will keep Russia and the West far from the war. Finland's accession to NATO will create a direct contact between Russia and NATO, which will inevitably turn into a big war, the epicentre of which will be Finland. If the Finns imagine the security they strive for by announcing their integration into NATO, then this is an extravagant view. They will be given war, and very quickly.
