Armenian MFA confirms news of meeting between Ankara's, Yerevan's delegations at state border
The Armenian foreign ministry confirmed the earlier statement made by Ibrahim Kalin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s spokesman and chief foreign policy adviser regarding a meeting of the countries' technical delegations at the state border to discuss the details of its planned partial opening.
"At the beginning of this month, a meeting of technical delegations took place on the Turkish-Armenian border, both on the territory of Türkiye and Armenia. There is a bridge there; work has been done to repair it and technically prepare it for road control, customs control, and other similar procedures that will be implemented after the opening of the border", Ibrahim Kalin said in a television interview with A Haber on November 29.
President Erodgan's press secretary added that the technical delegations of the Turkish and Armenian governments met on both sides of the frontier and even dined on Armenian territory.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman of Armenia, Vahan Hunanyan confirmed on November 30 that the Armenian envoy for normalization talks with Türkiye, Ruben Rubinyan, had indeed published information about the meeting in early November, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media outlets.
"Technical issues related to the implementation of the agreements reached earlier were discussed during the meeting. Discussions will continue," Hunanyan said.
