Kremlin spokesman calls recent phone talks between Putin and Scholz "business conversation"
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has revealed details of the telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
According to Peskov, the talks were held in Russian through an interpreter, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
“As far as I know, it was quite a business conversation: detailed, well, and quite frank, because the position of the parties was stated mutually,” said the Kremlin spokesman.
Earlier, Peskov said that the phone conversation between Putin and Scholz lasted one hour. He also called the fact of the conversation between the two politicians positive.
On November 15, at the initiative of the German side, Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz had their first telephone conversation since December 2022. During the talks, the German chancellor said that it was necessary to start a peaceful settlement on Ukraine. In addition, following the conversation, the politicians agreed to maintain bilateral contacts in the future.
