Armenian PM Pashinyan fires head of State Supervision Service

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has dismissed Romanos Petrosyan, the head of the State Supervision Service, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.

The official decision was posted on the government’s website.

The site also notes that Robert Bazikyan, the deputy head of the State Control Service, will temporarily assume the duties of the service’s leader.

This move comes amid a turbulent political climate in Armenia, marked by Pashinyan’s ongoing conflicts with domestic opposition, the Armenian Apostolic Church, and external pressures related to peace negotiations with Azerbaijan.
