Iran sets conditions for resuming nuclear talks, slams US, EU approach PHOTO
Iran will only return to nuclear negotiations if the talks are fair, balanced, and result in a mutually beneficial agreement, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said following a teleconference with European officials.
“Any new round of talks is only possible when the other side is ready for a fair, balanced, and mutually beneficial nuclear deal,” Araghchi wrote on X, stressing that Tehran would not engage under current circumstances, Caliber.Az reports.
I had a joint teleconference with E3 FMs & EU HR last night, in which I made the following points clear:

In the message posted after a joint call with the foreign ministers of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom (E3), as well as the European Union’s foreign policy chief, Araghchi blamed the United States for both the collapse of the 2015 nuclear deal and the failure of recent negotiations.
“It was the US that withdrew from a two-year negotiated deal – coordinated by the EU in 2015 – not Iran,” he said. “And it was the US that left the negotiation table in June this year and chose a military option instead, not Iran.”
The Iranian diplomat also called on the EU and its E3 members to change their approach if they wish to play a constructive role in resolving the crisis.
“If EU/E3 want to have a role, they should act responsibly, and put aside the worn-out policies of threat and pressure, including the ‘snap-back’ for which they lack absolutely no moral and legal ground,” Araghchi stated.
