Houthis strike Saudi Aramco refinery in Jizan VIDEO / UPDATED

25 July 2026 11:35

Yemen’s Houthi movement has struck a Saudi Aramco oil refinery in the southern Saudi city of Jizan, according to a report by Naya, as cross-border attacks escalate.

Saudi authorities suspended operations at airports named after Prince Abdul Mohsen bin Abdulaziz in Jizan and King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz in Yanbu following the attacks.

In a separate development, a statement attributed to the Yemeni Armed Forces indicated that an announcement on “large-scale and high-precision military operations” is expected at 15:00 local time.

Meanwhile, Greece’s armed forces said a Patriot air defence system it has deployed in Saudi Arabia intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched from Yemen toward a major oil refinery in the Yanbu area.

Yemen’s Houthi movement, also known as Ansar Allah, has launched an attack on the southern Saudi city of Jizan, according to a report by The Times of Israel citing statements from the group on social media.

The reported strike comes amid escalating tensions between the Iran-aligned group and Saudi Arabia. The newspaper said Saudi authorities had earlier issued brief warnings to residents in Jizan and the Red Sea city of Yanbu, after the Houthis vowed to retaliate for attacks earlier this week.

The developments follow Saudi airstrikes carried out overnight against military positions linked to Ansar Allah in Yemen. Saudi officials said those operations were in response to recent attacks by the group targeting Saudi oil tankers.
