Russia reports overnight strike on Kyiv drone production facilities

Russia carried out overnight group strikes on targets in Kyiv and Ukraine's Odesa region early Sunday, July 26, the Russian Defense Ministry announced.

"Last night, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out a group strike using high-precision ground- and air-launched weapons against military-industrial enterprises in the city of Kyiv and infrastructure facilities at the port of Chornomorsk in the Odesa region used for the delivery and storage of military cargo, as well as fuel and lubricants intended to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the ministry said in a statement, as reported by Caliber.Az.

According to the ministry, the strikes in the Ukrainian capital hit the Smart Intelligent Systems enterprise, which it said was engaged in the production of various types of unmanned aerial vehicles and related components, as well as a drone assembly and storage site in the southwestern part of the city.

The ministry claimed the facilities, with the involvement of specialists from a Ukrainian-American company, had been producing up to 1,000 drones per month, including the AQ-400 Scythe strike drone, the AQ-100 Bayonet, and the RQ-100 Scout reconnaissance drone.

The ministry also said the strikes hit fuel and lubricant storage tanks at the port of Chornomorsk in the Odesa region that it claimed were intended to supply the Ukrainian military.
