Iran, Oman hold talks on Strait of Hormuz shipping security

Iran and Oman have held several rounds of talks in Tehran on maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei announced.

According to Baghaei, the meetings took place on July 24 and July 25 at the level of deputy foreign ministers.

"During these negotiations, the two sides exchanged views on the general principles and practical mechanisms for ensuring the security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz while respecting the sovereign rights of both countries," the spokesperson said, adding that technical consultations will continue.
