Iran rejects US accusations of military shipments to Yemen
Iran has strongly denied recent allegations by the United States that it has sent military shipments to Yemen, calling the claims baseless and politically motivated.
Speaking on July 17, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei rejected what he described as repeated and unfounded accusations from Washington, arguing that they are part of a broader media campaign intended to damage Iran’s international standing, Caliber.Az reports via Tasnim.
“In such a context, the recent US narrative about seizing an arms shipment allegedly bound for Yemen is nothing but a deceitful attempt to distract global attention from the root cause of regional insecurity — the Zionist regime’s aggression and America’s destructive interference,” he stated.
He further accused the US of bearing responsibility for violence in the region, particularly through its support for Israel. According to Baqaei, American military and political backing has enabled Israel to intensify its operations in Gaza and the West Bank.
The spokesperson also criticised what he described as ongoing Israeli military actions in Syria and Lebanon, claiming they constitute repeated violations of those countries' territorial integrity.
Baqaei dismissed US reports of a recently seized arms shipment allegedly destined for Yemen as a “deceptive narrative,” intended to shift focus away from broader regional issues.
