IRGC aerospace commander killed in US-Israeli strike on Isfahan
A senior commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Mehdi Qureishi, has been killed in Israeli and US strikes on the central Iranian city of Isfahan, according to reports.
Saudi broadcaster Al Hadath, citing Iranian media, reported that Qureishi—identified as the commander of the IRGC’s Aerospace Forces—was killed during an attack targeting the “Ji” industrial zone in Isfahan.
The development follows earlier reports from the IRGC confirming the death of its official spokesman, Ali Mohammad Naeini, though no details were initially provided. The Israel Defence Forces later confirmed Naeini’s killing.
The strikes come amid an ongoing military campaign launched by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28. That operation has already resulted in the deaths of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several other senior officials, significantly escalating tensions across the region.
