Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that 178 individuals working for the United States and Israel have been arrested since the onset of the conflict, Al Jazeera reports.
According to the IRGC, those detained were allegedly transmitting images and locations of Iranian Red Crescent Society centres and military checkpoints to US and Israeli intelligence agencies for targeting purposes.
A number of foreign nationals were reportedly among those apprehended, with authorities seizing weapons, location-finding devices, specialized communication equipment, and foreign currencies.
The IRGC emphasized that the arrests are part of ongoing efforts to counter espionage and protect Iran’s national security.
