IDF confirms elimination of Iran’s Basij intelligence chief Esmail Ahmadi UPDATED
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have confirmed the killing of Iranian General and Basij intelligence chief Ismail Ahmadi.
Ahmadi held a key role in organising and executing Basij operations, according to the statement on Telegram.
“Ahmadi played a key role in leading major suppression operations during the recent internal protests in Iran, using severe violence, mass arrests, and force against civilian protesters,” the IDF said.
The Basij unit is part of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
