Armenia, Türkiye to assess investment needs for energy system link
Armenia and Türkiye will assess the level of investment required to connect their national energy systems, Armenia’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Davit Khudatyan, said following a government meeting.
Speaking at a briefing, Khudatyan noted that the issue had been discussed with Türkiye’s Minister of Energy, Alparslan Bayraktar, on the sidelines of the Nuclear Energy Summit held in Paris on March 10, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
The talks focused on the potential synchronization of the two countries’ power grids, a move expected to deliver significant economic benefits while enhancing the resilience and stability of their electricity networks.
According to Khudatyan, both sides have agreed to conduct a joint study to determine the scale of the investments required.
“We are ready to begin this work in the near future and expect a similar approach from our Turkish partners,” he said.
