Russia opens terrorism case against rapper Noize MC

Russian authorities have launched criminal proceedings against rapper Ivan Alekseev, better known by his stage name Noize MC, over allegations of publicly justifying terrorism, the Moscow Prosecutor’s Office said. 

According to a statement, the case was initiated under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Russian Criminal Code, which concerns public justification of terrorism.

The prosecutor’s office alleged that Alekseev, who is currently outside Russia, made statements during concerts that “justified terrorist ideology” and expressed a positive attitude toward an organization banned and designated as terrorist in Russia.

Alekseev, who has been designated a foreign agent by the Russian authorities, was previously fined in October 2025 for discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.

He was designated as a foreign agent and placed on Russia’s official register by the Justice Ministry on November 18, 2022.
