Georgia’s state security service chief steps down

Geka Geladze has stepped down as head of Georgia’s State Security Service, saying he will continue working in another government department following consultations with the country’s political leadership.
Geladze announced his resignation in a statement, saying the role had been a major responsibility and an opportunity to serve Georgia, Caliber.Az reports via Georgian media.
“I have decided to step down from my post as head of the Georgian State Security Service.
Serving in this role has been a huge responsibility for me and an opportunity to serve our country,” Geladze said.
He did not specify which government department he would join.
