Azerbaijani diaspora leader in Yekaterinburg declared wanted
The head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Russia’s Yekaterinburg, Shahin Shikhlinski, has been declared wanted.
He is being sought in connection with a case involving alleged violence against a government official—a charge his son, Mutvali Shikhlinski, is already facing, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Earlier, the Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg ordered Mutvali Shikhlinski to be held in pre-trial detention for two months.
The case stems from an incident that occurred on July 1 near the "Baku Plaza" shopping centre. On that day, FSB officers allegedly attacked Shahin Shikhlinski while he was in a car driven by his son. During a court hearing, Mutvali Shikhlinski stated that he did not see the officer positioned to his right and expressed regret over the incident.
