Armenian, French FMs strengthen bilateral ties in key phone talks
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held a telephone conversation with his French counterpart, Jean-Noel Barrot.
The two discussed matters on the bilateral agenda, with an emphasis on the high level of political dialogue between Armenia and France and the active dynamics of their relations through joint programs, Caliber.Az reports.
Mirzoyan and Barrot agreed to continue their efforts to deepen the partnership between the two countries across all sectors, including through closer cooperation between their respective ministries.
Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan participated in the 5th European Political Community Summit. During the summit in Hungary, he held bilateral meetings with several international leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron.
The two leaders discussed Armenia-France cooperation and emphasized the importance of the periodic nature of summit meetings. These meetings provide an opportunity to address not only the bilateral agenda but also other areas of mutual interest.
They also touched on joint projects in the economy, infrastructure, and other sectors, as well as issues related to Armenia-EU cooperation, including the reforms implemented with EU support.
“The sides mulled issues related to joint programs in the spheres of economy, infrastructure, and other sectors. Issues related to Armenia-European Union cooperation were discussed, including the reforms implemented in our country with the support of the EU, as well as the dialogue on the liberalization of the visa regime,” the Armenian government press service stated.
Additionally, they exchanged views on the process of normalizing Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. Prime Minister Pashinyan reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to the peace program and efforts to ensure regional security and stability.
