Azerbaijani border guards have thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotics into the country from Iran via an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
The incident took place on the premises of the Horadiz border unit, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s State Border Service.

Authorities reported that the drone was carrying a total of 17.235 kilograms of narcotic substances, including 14.085 kg of marijuana, 3.120 kg of methamphetamine, 30 grams of opium, and 500 M-40 methadone tablets.
