Azerbaijan customs seizes tens of thousands of illegally imported medicines

Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee has prevented the sale of pharmaceutical products that were illegally imported into the country following a series of coordinated operational and investigative measures.

According to Caliber.Az, citing the agency, customs officers discovered 44,335 unregistered medicines in various forms — including blisters, ampoules, and vials — covering 251 different types of drugs.

The illicit stock was found in a warehouse and a cargo vehicle belonging to a pharmacy in Sumgait.

An investigation into the case is currently underway.
