Azerbaijan, Maldives launch first official consultations to strengthen bilateral ties
Elnur Mammadov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, is currently on an official visit to the Maldives, marking a significant step forward in the diplomatic relations between the two nations.
During the visit, Mammadov met with Hala Hameed, Secretary Bilateral for Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, to discuss avenues for expanding cooperation, Caliber.Az reports citing the Maldives Foreign Ministry's social media accounts.
Leading a high-level delegation that included both government officials and private sector representatives, Mammadov’s visit aims to bolster ties and explore new areas of collaboration between Azerbaijan and the Maldives.
The visit is particularly noteworthy as it ushers in the first round of official consultations between the two countries. These talks, which are set to take place today, are expected to address a broad spectrum of issues, with a focus on enhancing economic, political, and cultural exchanges.
