Azerbaijan moves up in world ranking for internet speed
Azerbaijan ranked 54th among 140 countries for mobile Internet speed in March this year.
The average download speed was 39.46 Mbps, Report informs, citing Speedtest Global Index.
Azerbaijan has moved up by three steps compared to the figure for January.
In the list of mobile operators, the UAE came in the first place (178.25 MB/s) and Cuba came in last 137th place (3.44 MB/s).
Azerbaijan dropped one notch in mobile internet speeds last month, ranking 118th. The country's average fixed broadband speed was 27.84 MB/s.
The ranking for fixed broadband speeds included 180 countries. First place went to Singapore (235.4 MB/s) and last place to Cuba (1.84 MB/s).
In addition, Baku dropped one step down in March in terms of mobile Internet speed (41.71 MB/s), ranking 73rd among 174 cities. The capital of Azerbaijan has dropped by two steps in fixed broadband internet speed and holds 137th place (30.36 MB/s).
Among the cities, the first place by mobile Internet speed was taken by Rayhan (Qatar), where the download speed was 223.87 MB/s, and the last place was taken by Cuba's capital Havana (3.03 MB/s).
There were 194 cities ranked for fixed broadband. China's capital Beijing topped the list (264.92 MB/s), while Havana was last in the ranking (1.51 MB/s).
