Azerbaijan prosecutor general's office: 73 killed in post-war mine blasts
At least 436 people have been affected by landmine explosions in Azerbaijan's liberated territories since the end of the 2020 war, according to Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General’s Office.
The office said 73 people have been killed and 363 others injured in mine-related incidents since November 10, 2020, Caliber.Az reports.
Authorities are investigating each incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the explosions, including their causes, the Prosecutor General’s Office said.
Azerbaijani authorities have repeatedly warned residents and visitors about the dangers posed by landmines and unexploded ordnance in areas affected by decades of conflict.
The Prosecutor General’s Office urged people travelling to the affected territories to use only officially designated routes and follow safety instructions issued by state authorities.
