Azerbaijan rejects EU's human rights accusations as baseless
Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Aykhan Hajizada has said that a number of EU institutions should stop provocations against Azerbaijan.
He made the remarks while commenting on the biased statements voiced by Lead Spokesperson of the European Union's for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Peter Stano in an interview with Politico on August 23, Caliber.Az reports.
Hajizada noted that the Azerbaijani side has repeatedly responded to such biased statements of the representative of the European Union on human rights in the country.
“Assertions that citizens are persecuted in Azerbaijan for their political beliefs or views, as well as that criminal cases against people who present themselves as journalists or human rights activists are politically motivated are fundamentally wrong and unacceptable,” Hajizada emphasized.
