Azerbaijan, Qatar mull expanding cooperation, regional developments PHOTO
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Mohammed Hamad Saad Al Fuhaid Al Hajri, the newly appointed Qatari Ambassador to Azerbaijan.
The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral and multilateral ties between the two countries and exploring new avenues for collaboration, the foreign ministry told Caliber.Az.
The discussion covered a range of topics including the current state of regional affairs and the successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Qatar in various domains such as politics, trade, education, and humanitarian efforts.
The sides emphasized the importance of leveraging existing mechanisms, including political consultations and the joint intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and technical cooperation, to further deepen bilateral relations.
Bayramov briefed the Ambassador on Azerbaijan’s recent achievements, including the conclusion of the conflict with Armenia and the restoration of its territorial integrity. He also highlighted ongoing reconstruction efforts and the normalization process with Armenia.
The Qatari Ambassador expressed his commitment to advancing the cooperation between the two nations, underscoring the potential for further collaboration, particularly within regional and international frameworks.
Both sides looked forward to enhancing the partnership, with specific attention to opportunities arising from Azerbaijan’s role as chair of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
