Kenya inugurates youth leadership, innovation centre with support from Azerbaijan
The Youth Leadership and Innovation Centre has been officially inaugurated in Nairobi, Kenya, with the support of the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA).
According to the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kenya, the centre is designed to empower young people by strengthening their leadership skills, promoting social engagement, and expanding career development opportunities, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The inauguration ceremony brought together key dignitaries, including Charlene Ruto, founder of the International Youth Network and daughter of Kenya’s President; Elmaddin Mehdiyev, Director of AIDA; Sultan Hajiyev, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kenya; and representatives of youth and civil society organisations.
Speakers at the event commended Azerbaijan’s growing contribution to development initiatives in Kenya and across Africa. In addition to AIDA’s ongoing programs, Azerbaijan has provided technical assistance to a secondary school in Nairobi and to neonatal departments in several Kenyan hospitals under the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s “Development of Education and Culture in African Countries” project.
During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation also held bilateral meetings with Kenyan counterparts to explore opportunities for expanding cooperation in humanitarian and other key sectors.
