Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan boost sports, medical cooperation
Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are intensifying their collaboration in the fields of sports and medicine, as highlighted in a recent meeting held in Astana.
The discussions took place during the fifth World Nomad Games, with key figures from both countries’ sports ministries present, Caliber.Az reports citing the Kazakh Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
Yerbol Myrzabasynov, Kazakhstan's Minister of Tourism and Sports, and Farid Gaibov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports, engaged in a detailed dialogue about the enhancement of bilateral cooperation in sports education and medical support. Both officials emphasized the productive partnership between the two nations, which includes the organization of joint training camps and various sports initiatives.
Myrzabasynov remarked, “Every year in our country, more than a thousand competitions of different levels, from international to local, are held. These include national sports such as "kazak kuresi" (Kazakh wrestling), "togyzkumalak" (a traditional board game), "asyk atu" (a game using sheep knuckles), "kokpar" (a traditional horse game), and other ethnic sports.” This extensive range of events underscores Kazakhstan’s commitment to preserving and promoting its rich sporting heritage.
The meeting also underscored the importance of continued collaboration between the two countries to further enhance their sports and medical sectors, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing these fields.
