Azerbaijan’s Astrophysical Observatory unveils date of first lunar eclipse of year
04 March 2025 19:43
Azerbaijan’s Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory has announced that the first lunar eclipse of 2025 will take place on March 14.
The eclipse will begin at 09:09:33 local time and end at 12:47:48, lasting for 3 hours and 38 minutes, the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory told Caliber.Az.
The total phase of the eclipse will start at 10:26:06 and end at 11:31:26, with the maximum eclipse occurring at 10:59:56. This rare astronomical event will be most visible in North and South America.
The total eclipse can be observed across the Pacific Ocean, the Americas, Western Europe, and parts of Western Africa. However, the eclipse will not be visible in Azerbaijan, as the Moon will be below the horizon at that time.
