Moreover, the Azerbaijani previously occupied territories are rich in mineral resources, boasting over 155 types of minerals with significant strategic and economic value. Among them are five gold deposits, six mercury deposits, two copper deposits, as well as reserves of other valuable materials like lead, zinc, gypsum, and decorative stones such as agate and jasper.
These mineral deposits are particularly concentrated in Shusha, Khojaly, Khojavand, and Aghdam districts.
In Shusha, deposits of facing stones, clay, and medicinal mineral waters—comparable to Russia's renowned Yessentuki waters—are abundant. Meanwhile, the Khojaly district is home to reserves of limestone, sand, gravel, and freshwater resources.
The Aghdam district, known for its gold, copper, and lead deposits, also has extensive resources essential for cement, saw stone, and brick production.
These valuable resources underscore the economic potential of Azerbaijani previously occupied territories.
