First Deputy Minister of Defence - Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan Colonel-General Kerim Veliyev, Commander of the Ground Forces Lieutenant-General Hikmet Mirzoyev and other representatives of the senior staff of the Ministry visited several military units deployed in the liberated territories, Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az.
After meeting with the senior staff, brigade commanders, their deputies and commanders of separate military units of the Ground Forces, the Chief of the General Staff informed the command staff about the tasks set for the Azerbaijani Army by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, and gave relevant instructions for their implementation.
The Chief of the General Staff inquired about the provision of conscripts participating in mobilisation training camps and practical exercises, observed combat and firearms training and gave instructions on their improvement. It was noted that the majority of those participating in the training camps were reserve soldiers who had taken part in the Patriotic War and subsequent operations.
The Chief of the General Staff instructed to pay special attention to the systematic continuation of mobilisation training and the creation of mobilisation reserves, and regular training camps in order to maintain a high level of combat training of reserve soldiers.
Colonel-General Veliyev also inquired about the progress of command and staff exercises conducted with the participation of mobilisation reserves. The Chief of the General Staff, who arrived at the site of the exercises and the training centres deployed in the field, listened to the reports of the relevant officials.
The commanders of the military units were given specific tasks to further improve the quality of the exercises and the level of professionalism and combat training of the personnel involved.
The Chief of the General Staff, who visited the military units of the Rocket Artillery Forces, noted the importance of improving the quality of exercises and drills, the intensity of their implementation in the field and the improvement of the practical skills of combat units.
Colonel-General Veliyev, who visited the military units deployed in the Kalbajar and Lachin directions, was briefed on the work being carried out. The relevant officials were informed of the Minister of Defence's instructions on the systematic implementation of measures at military facilities under construction and the completion of works within the set deadlines.
