In a high-level meeting between Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Tokyo, Gursel Ismayilzada, and Japan’s Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hisashi Matsumoto, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to bolstering collaboration, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Discussions covered economic prospects, regional stability in the Caucasus, and Azerbaijan’s engagement in global initiatives, underscoring the strategic importance of their evolving relationship.
During the discussion, Matsumoto expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the AZAL plane crash in December last year. He also highlighted the importance of interpersonal ties and educational exchange programmes, emphasising Japan’s expectations for Azerbaijan’s participation in Expo 2025 in Osaka.
