Belarus seeks stronger ties with Iran, congrats president-elect Pezeshkian
Belarus President Alyaksandr Lukashenka congratulated Massoud Pezeshkian on his election as President of Iran and invited him to visit Minsk at a convenient time.
Lukashenka described the successful conduct of the election campaign in difficult circumstances for Iran as "an unconditional victory of the Iranian people, who continue to walk the independent path of development with dignity and steadfastness," according to Caliber.Az, citing foreign media.
"The voting results confirm your high political authority and testify to the public support for the course of the country's leadership to defend Iran's national interests, create prospects for its citizens, and cooperation with the countries of your region," Lukashenka stated.
He also highlighted the expanding dialogue between Minsk and Tehran at all levels.
"I am convinced that shortly, we will be able to implement all the agreements reached, including those on giving the Belarusian-Iranian relations the character of a strategic partnership," Lukashenka emphasized.
