Beyond the visible: Excavating the depths of Israeli-Azerbaijani ties Caliber.Az's exclusive interview with Ambassador George Deek
In an exclusive interview with Caliber.Az, H.E. George Deek, Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan, spoke to Orkhan Amashov on what he has described as the three key pillars of Israeli-Azerbaijani relations, explaining how the two nations have developed a unique partnership.
Reflecting on the Iranian threat and the necessity of containment, Ambassador Deek shared his views on the global and bilateral context that fostered the opening of an Azerbaijani Embassy in Tel-Aviv.
Utilising a metaphorical comparison, Ambassador George Deek likened the fundamentals of Azerbaijani-Israeli relations into a tree, with the roots being akin to historic ties, the trunk to the common strategic interests and the branches to their wide range of manifestations in the form of heightened representation, indicating the depth and breadth of the ever-growing closeness between the two nations.
Ambassador Deek reiterated his country’s steadfast and unreserved support for Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, remarking that Israel stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Baku during the Second Karabakh War and pledged that it would continue to foster bilateral ties for the greater good of both countries and the world at large.
