China tests ground-based missile defence system

China has tested a ground-based missile defense system (ABM).

According to TASS, this is stated in a message published on April 14 on the WeChat social network by the Chinese Defence Ministry.

“China has tested a ground-based system for intercepting medium-trajectory missiles on its territory, and the goals have been achieved,” the Defence Ministry said in a statement.

The defence department also stressed that the tests were defensive in nature and not directed against other countries.
