Six transport aircraft belonging to the Turkish Armed Forces have delivered a substantial military cargo to Pakistan, including weapons, missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
This strategic support from Türkiye comes at a time of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Turkish newspaper Türkiye.
Pakistani officials expressed gratitude for Türkiye’s support, with one official stating, “Türkiye is showing silent but tangible support. Stay with us.” The delivery further strengthens the military ties between the two nations amid heightened geopolitical instability in the region.
"If the water flow is not restored, we will strike the dam," warned Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Syed Asim Munir, signalling the severe implications of India's actions.
The Turkish newspaper indicates that the Pakistani army is mobilising heavy weaponry and equipment toward the border, with Indian military posts occasionally coming under attack.
According to unconfirmed reports, KARAOK ATGMs and various munitions for Bayraktar TB2 UAVs (MAM-L, MAM-C and KEMANKEŞ cruise missiles) were delivered to Pakistan.
Let's note that tensions between India and Pakistan have sharply escalated following a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on April 22, 2025, which resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists, mostly Hindus. India has accused Pakistan-based militants of orchestrating the attack, leading to a series of retaliatory actions and military confrontations.
Since April 24, Indian and Pakistani forces have exchanged small arms fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir. These skirmishes have continued nightly, raising concerns of a broader military escalation.
India has suspended the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty, blocking the flow of water from the Indus River basin. It also expelled Pakistani diplomats, and revoked visas for Pakistani nationals. In response, Pakistan has closed its airspace to Indian flights, suspended trade, and expelled Indian diplomats.
India test-fired long-range precision missiles, signaling heightened military readiness. Pakistan has received advanced PL-15 long-range air-to-air missiles from China, further intensifying the arms race.
