Media: US carries out attack in Yemen’s Al-Jawf province

On April 30, Al-Masirah TV channel, affiliated with the Houthi rebels, reported a U.S. attack in Yemen's Al-Jawf province.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has not yet commented on this information, Caliber.Az reports.

Note that, as of April 2025, the United States has intensified its military campaign against Yemen's Houthi rebels under "Operation Rough Rider," initiated on March 15. This operation, the largest U.S. offensive in the Middle East during President Donald Trump's second term, aims to dismantle Houthi capabilities threatening international shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. ​

U.S. airstrikes targeted the Ras Isa oil port on April 17, resulting in at least 74 deaths and over 170 injuries, marking the deadliest attack since the campaign's onset. Subsequent strikes on April 28 hit a migrant detention centre in Saada, killing at least 68 individuals. Overall, the campaign has led to more than 250 fatalities since mid-March, including civilians. ​

The United Kingdom joined the U.S. in coordinated airstrikes on April 29, targeting Houthi drone manufacturing facilities near Sanaa. The UK Ministry of Defence stated the operation was meticulously planned to minimize civilian casualties and focused on infrastructure used for attacks on international shipping. ​

Despite these efforts, the Houthis continue their assaults, leading to a 55% decline in Red Sea shipping activity, significantly impacting global trade. The U.S. Department of Defence has faced criticism for limited transparency regarding civilian casualties, especially following the high-profile incidents in Ras Isa and Saada. ​
