Construction of Azerbaijan’s Horadiz–Aghband road nearing completion, says official
Construction of the Horadiz–Aghband highway is nearing completion, Vahid Hajiyev, the special representative of the Azerbaijani president in Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan districts, announced.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 7th Diaspora Youth Summer Camp, Hajiyev said many companies are interested in establishing warehouse complexes and logistics centers in the region, as well as expanding freight transportation and storage capabilities, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
“All of this will give a strong impetus to the region’s economic development and its transformation into an international transport hub,” he noted.
Hajiyev stressed that the large-scale Great Return project involves not only the return of people to their homes but also the development of business, education, services, and the creation of new ideas and opportunities in the liberated territories.
He added that the state is creating conditions to support this process, including tax and customs incentives, financial mechanisms for entrepreneurs, and assistance for investors.
According to Hajiyev, agriculture, logistics, services, tourism, and culture are developing in the region. Two major economic zones have been established in the Karabakh and East Zangezur regions — the Aghdam Industrial Park and the Araz Valley Economic Zone in Jabrayil. More than 19 resident companies already have projects operating or under implementation in the latter.
