Envoy: US remains top study destination for Azerbaijani students
The number of Azerbaijani students studying in the United States rose to 1,329 in the last academic year, marking an 18% increase compared with the previous year, US Chargé d’Affaires in Azerbaijan Amy Carlon said at the opening of the “Study in the USA” exhibition.
The event was organised by the US Embassy and EducationUSA and brought together representatives from more than 40 American higher education institutions.
Carlon said the growth reflects sustained demand for US education among Azerbaijani students, noting that the upward trend has continued for four consecutive years.
"The USA continues to remain one of the most popular destinations for Azerbaijani students seeking higher education. In recent years, we have observed significant growth in interest in studying in our country. In the last academic year, 1,329 students from Azerbaijan studied in the United States, which is 18% more compared to the previous year. This trend has been observed for the fourth consecutive year and reflects growing trust in the high quality of American education," Carlon said.
She added that studying in the United States provides Azerbaijani students not only with academic opportunities but also broader international exposure.
"They become bridges between cultures, build strong connections, and return home with new ideas and perspectives that contribute to the development of Azerbaijan," the diplomat noted.
