Five Hezbollah members killed in Israeli airstrikes

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have launched multiple strikes on civil defence facilities linked to Hezbollah in the West Bekaa region of Lebanon.

The attacks led to the deaths of five group members in the village of Sohmor, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

This incident marks a significant escalation in the ongoing tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, highlighting the volatile situation in the region. Further developments are awaited as the conflict continues to unfold.

Notably, Israeli jets have persisted in their attacks across Lebanon, including in the capital, Beirut, for a seventh consecutive day. Lebanese officials report that the relentless bombardment has forced up to a million people into the streets.

As concerns mount over the potential for an all-out war between Israel and Hezbollah, Lebanon’s caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati declared on September 29 that the ongoing Israeli assaults may have resulted in the “worst displacement crisis” in the nation's history.

Earlier, the Israeli military confirmed that its fighter jets had targeted Hezbollah installations, including rocket launchers and weapons storage facilities, executing numerous air raids throughout Lebanon.

At least 11 individuals were killed in an airstrike that hit a residence in the town of Ain, located in the Bekaa Valley in the northeast. Civil defence centre was struck in a small town just outside the Tyre governorate, resulting in four fatalities and several injuries.

According to Lebanon’s Health Ministry, over 1,000 Lebanese citizens have lost their lives, and approximately 6,000 have sustained injuries in the past fortnight.
