G7 leaders to discuss AI at summit in Italy
G7 leaders will pledge to promote “responsible development and use” of chemicals, artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the military sphere at summit in Italy to be held on June 13-15.
There is such a wording in the draft post-summit joint statement, according to Fakti.
In the project, G7 leaders will call for greater use of AI in general, but intends to warn about the risks associated with it and misinformation. In particular, they are expected to announce the importance of AI to societal development and pledge to “promote safe, reliable and trustworthy AI” while promoting “inclusive, human-centered digital transformation”.
G7 leaders are also expected to announce an action plan to use AI in the workplace to boost productivity and improve working conditions, while demanding “respect for international law when using AI for the military goals”.
The G7 summit, chaired by Rome, will be held in the southern region of Puglia.
