German Bundestag raises issue of sanctions against Russian fertilisers

Tilman Kuban, a member of the German Bundestag from the Christian Democratic Union of Germany and the Christian Social Union in Bavaria bloc, asked the German authorities if they planned to support sanctions against Russian fertiliser imports.

Lenta.ru analysed the text of Kuban's letter on the proposed new sanctions against Russia.

According to Kuban, sanctions in the fertiliser sector would help to make the processing chains in Germany and Europe more sustainable.

The politician also drew attention to the fact that the Russian Federation increased fertiliser imports to Germany by 3.3 times in the first half of this year. In addition, he said, German producers are under pressure due to a twofold reduction in market prices.
