Greece intends to expand the production of ammunition for Ukraine

Hellenic Defense Systems is negotiating with international ammunition manufacturers to participate in a program to produce 155mm calibre shells to support Ukraine and replenish European stocks.

The expansion plans are reported by the local newspaper Kathimerini on August 13, according to Lenta.ru.

The discussion of this issue takes place in conditions of absolute secrecy and is currently at a fairly mature stage, the publication clarifies. The results of the negotiations are expected in the near future.

The consumption of artillery shells in Ukraine is a record. According to Kathimerini, Kyiv uses about 20,000 of these munitions per day. The Greek company produces the same amount per year.
