Millions in damages after fire at toxic substance warehouse in Germany's Dölzig
A fire broke out at the warehouse of HEICO Aircraft Maintenance in Dölzig, located in the eastern region of Germany, with damages expected to reach millions of euros.
The fire occurred on January 31 evening in the company's workshop, which specializes in repairing aircraft spare parts, Caliber.Az reports via German newspaper Bild.
The room housed various paints and other toxic substances. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported as a result of the fire.
While the exact amount of damage is still under assessment, the newspaper reports that the total cost is expected to run into the millions.
The warehouse, where spare parts for aircraft were stored, was completely destroyed. The fire has since been extinguished after approximately 100 fire department personnel were involved in the operation.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined, with emergency services and law enforcement currently on the scene investigating the incident.
