Ukrainian president hails security service’s success, greenlights new operations against Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has praised the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) for its recent operational successes and approved further special operations targeting Russian military infrastructure, particularly air defence systems.
Zelenskyy shared an update via his official Telegram channel following a briefing with Head of Security Service Vasyl Malyuk. The meeting focused on the agency’s covert military activities and the long-range precision operations conducted by its special forces, Caliber.Az reports.
“Today I received a report from the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk,” Zelenskyy said.
“We primarily discussed the military component — special operations and the long-range actions of the SBU’s soldiers. I am grateful for the marksmanship. We do not make the details public, but the enemy feels the consequences of our actions.”
The president placed particular emphasis on the effectiveness of SBU missions in neutralizing Russian air defence systems during the first half of the year — a key factor in enabling Ukraine’s long-range strikes against Russia’s military-industrial assets.
“These results deserve special attention,” Zelenskyy said. “They significantly help our long-range strikes on targets within the Russian military machine and the military economy.”
The president also confirmed that a number of future SBU operations have now been coordinated and greenlit. “Thanks to the SBU for the strength!” he concluded.
