White phosphorus leak reported inside US air base in South Korea

A leak of white phosphorus was reported inside the Osan Air Base in South Korea on July 28, prompting authorities to issue an evacuation advisory for nearby residents, the country's safety ministry said.

The incident occurred within the US military installation, although officials did not immediately provide details on the cause of the leak or whether there were any casualties, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.

White phosphorus is a highly toxic substance commonly used in military munitions.
